I can recommend checking out the Chesapeake Climate Action Network, which does work from local to state to federal level, with lots of opportunities for volunteers to get involved, particularly in the DMV (DC/MD/VA areas).

Thanks for your encouragement, Ayana! I’ll also mention that my local Indivisible group has a very strong and active Environment/Climate Action team. We’ve been able to be effective at the state and county levels. Most recently we worked with Indivisibles and others across our state of Washington to save the Climate Commitment Act from predatory initiatives funded by a California billionaire. Count every win!

Literally listening to What if We Get it Right and reading All That We Can Change. Telling everyone about them and asking people to listen / read What if We Get it Right for my birthday and discuss it with me. My daughter just turned two and I’m devastated by what her future could hold, so thank you so much for these books that keep us inspired and looking toward solutions, always. As a designer and artist I am committing to using my voice and my work to find my climate solution role ❤️‍🩹

I keep replaying the first moment of the DNC convention this summer, when a young woman walked onto the podium and dropped an enormous book on it, saying "THIS is the 2025 plan y'all" and then proceeded to give some of the highlights, each one worse than the preceding one.

Apologies to those who may be offended by this next comment:

I sincerely pray for DTs mansion home in Florida to be completely devastated by flooding, fire or a combo of the two, with nothing left standing. As a direct lesson for him on how climate change is truly devastating this country, as well as our entire planet.

My heart was hurting so much yesterday, can’t afford to just sit with that though. I recently joined Mothers Out Front - an organization of parents mobilizing for a sustainable future - it’s not a big org, has multiple chapters in NY and CA , it feels good to be doing something to try to stem the coming tide of stupidity from the Trump

Admin. Local action is so important and now more than ever. Thank you Ayana for all you do, your voice is a huge help and motivator.

Thanks for this. What did we expect from a man-child with the mental functioning and psychological structure of a 2yo? He has no boundaries. The world is his oyster and he want's to turn our nation into a giant golf course from sea to shining sea. It's all is environment, afterall, just like the 2yo he is.
